Education is regarded as the key building block of our future. This is why we have undertaken the task of educating our communities about different aspects of life.
On Thursday, 20 April 2023 our facilitators visited Mmankala Technical and Commercial School in Makapanstad to go and educate both the learners and teachers about the LGBTQIA+ community.
Members of the LGBTQIA+ community have always been part of our lives, even though in some communities they are disregarded and ill-treated. However, it is worth noting that they too exist and that they have the same rights as any other human being.
The aim of our visit is to assist both the teachers and learners to understand and accept the members of the LGBTQIA+ community that are inside and outside the school environment.
Learners and teachers need to learn to accept and respect the LGBTQIA+ member and live with them in harmony, as they too, are human.
Respecting and embracing each others’ orientation will play a role in creating a conducive environment for all.
