On January 20, 2023, we went to Swartdam in the North-west to roll out the Community Capacity Enhancement (CCE) Programme and we were joined by the Local NPOs as well as the ward Counsellor.
During the rollout of the CCE Programme members of the community were challenged to identify the challenges that they were faced with and how they plan to overcome them by utilizing the resources that they have as a community.
The common challenges that were identified and brought forward, and that were most common were: HIV/AIDS, Crime, and Drug Abuse.
As a result of the rollout of CCE a Community Task Team was established to spearhead the process of escalating the concerns and challenges of the community to the relevant authorities, as well as to relay updates, feedback, and information back to the community
