Social Development Month Celebration

Social Development Month celebration is observed annually during the month of October, to mark our National Commitment to caring for the most vulnerable in the Society. In light of this, On the 21st of October 2022, we visited “Greenside” in Maubane Village in celebration of this Month and we were hosted by Sunshine Self Help For People with Disabilities.

We celebrated this Month in collaboration with other Stakeholders and Government Departments which included: The Department of Health, Department of Home Affairs, SAPS, SASSA, Moretele Local Municipality, and Other Local NPO’s.

During this celebration, members of the community were given more information about the mandate of the Department of Social Development towards the Communities, as well as how the Department continues to forge partnerships through which vulnerable individuals and communities may become active participants in their own development as well as that of the society at large
